TRAVEL TO AUSTIN, TEXAS:
Fly into Bergstrom International Airport, which is a short (20 minute) ride to the two B&Bs where participants will be staying. Lauren (firstname.lastname@example.org), of CUNY, should have contacted you to make airplane bookings and pay for your ticket. If you have not heard from her, do not hesitate to contact her.
FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE B&B:
Please make your own arrangements for transportation to the B&B, and save receipts so that we can reimburse you.
1. There is a shared ride shuttle (called Super Shuttle Blue Van Service) which will take you from the airport to the Austin Folk House B&B and the Star of Texas B&B (which are right across the street from each other) for about $15.00. You should book ahead, however. You can book online at :
2. There is also a bus from the airport--the so-called airport flyer--that will take you to 23rd and San Jacinto. This stop is close to the Linguistics Building, where the conference will be held; but it is about 6 blocks from the B&Bs at 22nd and Nueces. See the following map:
The airport flyer runs every 30 minutes, takes about 25 minutes to UT-Austin, and costs $1.50 (exact change needed). This page gives more info:
3. A cab or limo costs about $70, so the airport shuttle is a better choice unless several people can share a ride. More information on cab and limo services can be found here:
ADDRESS OF THE BED AND BREAKFAST HOTELS:
